Helping
Hands.
Once again our team steps forward for a great mission. This mission changes the life of the rural poor. We haven’t
forgotten our next-door parishes in Puttlam District. We stride along to
rebuild the lives of Wanathawilluwa parishioners. The village
is rich with environmental beauty but there are dark sides among them. “The
poverty” makes even darker. Everyday dark stories will be born. A number of narrators
will come out. But no one will listen up. We listen to their stories and we
took an action.
Before starting our program a group of our agents went on a tour to Wanathawilluwa
parish. They were able to visit Wanathawilluwa parishioner’s homes
under the guides of parish priest Rev.Fr. Sisira Kumara. We identify their
major problems after a friendly chat with the villagers. We were able to
discover their needs and made a list.
To collect aids around Katuneriya Parish our team members divided into 4
groups. Rev.Fr. Sumith Perera the Assistant parish priest in Katunery made us
storage by great advices on leadership, while working on this project. A number
of sponsors gave us a good support by the financial side. And many kind-hearted
parishioners in our area helped us by supplying school stationeries; school
Uniforms, school shoes, medical assistance, dried food & etc.
We have planned to take your aids to Wanathawilluwa on 20th
of June 2009. We will let you know their
comments about your kindness soon after the project comes to a happy end.
